Jenny Fensom has been caring for and looking
after animals since before leaving school. Her first experience was working
during her summer holidays at a local kennels and cattery. Then for several
years she ran her own boarding kennels, and since 1987 has run her boarding
cattery “Good Companions” in Streatley, a small village in Bedfordshire.
As well as having a great love of animals
Jenny has always enjoyed writing both poetry and prose and has recently published some of her work, much of which reflects her interests in animals and
the countryside.

Jenny's 12 cats are featured in an introductory poem entitled:
THE TWELVE OFFICE CATS
Tortoiseshell Polly was the first,
Then starving Ollie always wanting more
Affable Bagpuss, fluffy, black and white
Mistress Minnie Mouser moves in next door.
Calico Kate with sunburned ears,
William Wordsworth, such a handsome lad,
Then tabby
Jane Austen’s famous cad.
Smoke grey Kizzy’s innocent life
Ends with the scream of a firework bang,
Next Roly poly Mimi and
His Imperial Highness Siamese Kang.
Meek little Aubrey finds peace and calm
In his final twilight year
Now cheeky Chivers rules the roost,
The only kitten to have resided here!
